Dr.Gayatridevi, a doctor by profession, is an artist by passion. The most relaxing moments in her life, according to her are when she paints. She has been painting not only for her happiness but also for helping several students to learn art, especially the Tanjore form. She held a few exhibitions at Chennai and Mumbai.

initially self-taught, her artistic skills were embellished by renowned artistes like Kameswara Rao (Vijayawada) and Ilango (Chennai).

She was initiated into Tanjore painting by Lakshmi (Chennai).

Retaining the traditional values of the Tanjore paintings, Gayatridevi has been improvising on technique, format and content of the paintings.
